Batur Lake
Admire the views of this active volcano and its lake from Penelokan which actually means "a place to look".There is a stunning scenery across to Gunung Batur and its crater now filled with water.
When the volcano erupted in 1917, it killed thousands of people in the original village of Batur.
After rebuilding the village the volcano erupted again in 1927, then they moved the village and the surviving shrine to higher grounds.
