Tanah Lot & Mengwi Afternoon Tour
Pura Taman Ayun is situated in a gorgeous park surrounded by a wide moat near the village of Mengwi in the south of Bali. Built in 17th century Taman Ayun literally means a "beautiful garden' and it is one of the most attractive temple of Bali. Created by the Raja of Mengwi as a 'Pura Kawiten' or family temple, this is a special temple where the deified ancestors of the Raja Dynasty of Mengwi and other important gods are honored.
Tanah Lot - which means "Land in the Sea" in Balinese language - located in Tabanan, about 20 km from Denpasar. The temple was founded by a famous Hindu priest Dang Hyang Nirartha on a small rocky island which has been shaped over the years by the endless ocean tide. It is reachable in a few minute by walk, because it is just 20 meters from the coastal lip and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries.
